Data Deletion
Last updated: August 8, 2026
Sound Recipe (a Hayward Data Science production) lets you delete the data the app has stored about you. This page explains how to ask, what gets deleted, and what we cannot delete for you.
How to request deletion
Email george@soundrecipe.io from the email address you used in the app, with a subject like "Delete my data". That address is the only identifier we hold for you, so writing from it is also how we verify the request. No account exists and no password is needed.
We first reply asking you to confirm the request. This protects you: it proves the request really came from your inbox, not from someone pretending to be you. After you confirm, we complete deletion within 30 days and reply listing what was removed.
We delete the data tied to the address the request comes from. If you used more than one email address in the app, send one request from each address.
What we delete
Everything we hold that is tied to you:
- Your backup records: your email address and the playlist links you submitted
- The generated spreadsheet files and their share links
- The anonymous purchase identifier associated with your installs
What we cannot delete, and why
- Your subscription and billing history. Billing is between you and the store you bought from. To stop a subscription: on Android, cancel in the Play Store under Payments & subscriptions; on iPhone, cancel in Settings under your Apple Account, Subscriptions. Deleting your data with us does not cancel a subscription.
- Spreadsheets already delivered to your inbox. Those copies are yours.
- Aggregated analytics. Crash and usage statistics are not tied to you as a person and expire on their own schedule.
If you do not ask
We keep backup records so your history works across reinstalls, until you ask us to delete them. There is no other retention period.
