Sound Recipe backs up a Spotify playlist to a spreadsheet and emails it to you.

You never log in, and we have no access to your Spotify account. We never ask for your Spotify password, and we cannot see your library or anything private. That is why only public playlists are supported. The only things you hand us are an email address and a playlist link. We never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

What we collect

  • Your email address, to send you the spreadsheet.
  • The playlist link you submit, which we send to Spotify's public API to read the public track list.
  • Your clipboard, only if you allow it. With Clipboard Helper on, the app checks on your device whether your clipboard holds a playlist link. Nothing is sent to us unless you submit it. Turn it off any time in Clipboard Helper Settings.
  • A notification token and an installation ID, so we can tell you when your backup is ready.
  • Your subscription status, through RevenueCat. Apple and Google handle payments, and we never see your card number.
  • Basic app analytics through Google Firebase: screens opened, crashes, and on Android your device's advertising ID. We do not run ads.

We do not collect your name, address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or your Spotify password.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run Sound Recipe: Google (Firebase, Cloud Storage, Analytics, push notifications, and email delivery), Spotify (reading the public playlist), RevenueCat (subscription status), Apple and Google Play (payments), and short.io (your shareable link). We may also disclose information if the law requires it. Your data is never sold and never shared for advertising.

Your spreadsheet's shareable link

The app can create a link to your spreadsheet. That link is not password-protected, so anyone who has it can open the file. Share it only with people you mean to. Ask us and we will remove any link.

Retention and deletion

We keep your backup records and spreadsheets until you ask us to delete them. Email george@soundrecipe.io and we will delete your data and confirm when it is done. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold. We honor these requests wherever you live, including rights under the GDPR and CCPA.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit with HTTPS, and secrets are stored in your device's Keychain (iOS) or EncryptedSharedPreferences (Android). No system is perfectly secure.

Children

Sound Recipe is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
